The incident occurred in the town of Bohmte, in northwestern Germany, last Sunday (20). The information comes from CNN.
According to police, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a parked car. After the collision, the car plowed through a hedge and entered a garden, where it struck the boy.
The car then crossed uneven terrain and was apparently catapulted into the air, crashing into the roof of a neighboring barn about 3 meters off the ground.
Police reported that the boy who was hit and the driver’s wife were seriously injured. The driver, his two children aged 11 and 12, and a 13-year-old passenger who were also in the car sustained minor injuries.
Dozens of firefighters, a dozen ambulances, and two rescue helicopters were among the emergency services dispatched. The car had to be removed from the roof with the help of a crane.
The vehicle was seized by the police, who are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. They emphasized that there were no signs the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
